At Spartek Academy, entrepreneurship is more than a subject; it is a way of learning. As the founder and host of the Howard County Children’s Business Fair, Spartek provides young people with the opportunity to turn ideas into real businesses, serve customers, and develop confidence through authentic experiences.
Each spring, young entrepreneurs from across Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, and beyond gather to launch businesses, sell products and services, and showcase their creativity and innovation. The event welcomes hundreds of visitors and highlights the power of youth entrepreneurship while giving Spartek learners the chance to apply real-world skills in marketing, finance, leadership, and problem-solving.
Community members are invited to attend, shop, and support the next generation of entrepreneurs.
More about the HoCo CBF
At the Howard County Children’s Business Fair, kids will create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interaction with customers, and any parent seen selling to the customer or promoting the child’s product will result in disqualification from the competition.

More about the Children’s Business Fair
This event is sponsored by Spartek Academy: An Acton Academy, the Baltimore Children’s Business Fair, and the generous support of our donors and volunteers. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.
Whether an entrepreneur is famous or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs, and serve their communities.
